Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Recertification & HYBRID WFR Recert

Review, practice, and stay on top of your skills with NOLS Wilderness Medicine’s Wilderness First Responder Recertification Course! This scenario-based approach to recertification provides you the opportunity to test your skills against realistic situations, crafted to reinforce evacuation decision-making and refresh your patient assessment skills. It also provides you with the latest updates in wilderness medicine and includes Adult and Child CPR. You will be required to pass a written and practical exam.

You’ll practice and relearn wilderness medicine protocols, review evacuation and decision making guidelines, and receive the latest updates in wilderness medicine over the course of three days.  WFR Recert course is 24 hours of training, completed in 3 days.  Check out these online resources ahead of time, because you’ll start the course with a written exam!

You’ll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments!

In the Hybrid WFR Recert course, you’ll save some time in class by completing pre-course materials prior to the course start date and take the test.  By doing this, we can spend more time in class practicing skills in scenarios, and less time reviewing the basics.  The Hybrid WFR Recert course is 20 hours, completed in two days (with an evening session).
